Eyesight Criteria for Indian Army Recruitment

    • Myopia (near-sightedness): Myopia should not exceed -3.5 D.

    • Astigmatism: Astigmatism should not exceed +/- 2.5 D.

    It is important to note that candidates wearing glasses having power different from the above mentioned power’s are strictly rejected.

  • Color Vision: The candidate should have normal color vision. Color blindness is generally not accepted, especially for technical branches or positions that require the ability to distinguish colors accurately.
  • Binocular Vision: The candidate should have good binocular vision and depth perception. The ability to perceive depth is essential for various tasks in the army.
  • Squint: Can affect binocular vision and depth perception, which are important for military tasks. As a result, the candidates with squint are rejected.
