What Are Contact Lens Solutions?

The contact lens solution is designed to store and clean your lenses and comes in many forms, all designed to accommodate slightly different needs, but in reality, they all do the same job.

Contact lenses are small prescription lenses. They’re designed to correct refractive errors and maintain ocular health. Modern contacts are far more than small eyeglass lenses that fit onto your eyes. They do, however, function very similar to regular eyeglasses—refracting and focusing light in order that objects appear clearly. Since the lenses stick with the tear fluid on your eye surface, they move naturally with you. This is often but one advantage contacts have over glasses.

There are two main types of solutions used for soft-touch lenses;

Multipurpose solution

Clean and maintain your lenses with this solution and secure contact with your eyes. You must clean and disinfect any contact lens you remove from your eye before you put the lens back in. There are many types of cleaning systems. The choice depends on the type of lens you use, if you have allergies or if your eyes tend to form protein deposits. Ask your eye doctor what kind of cleaning solutions you should use.

Peroxide solution

Lenses can be cleaned and stored in this solution. Lower the solution, or add a debugging tablet to the solution while the lenses are stored on them, or the case itself will have an idle disk on it.

The debridement process usually takes about six hours, and it is important that you do not try to apply your lenses before the solution is completely weakened. Some people choose to wash their lenses with a saline solution, but this is not a cleansing agent and should not be used instead of an All-in-One or Peroxide Solution.

WHAT IS THE BEST CONTACT LENS SOLUTION?

It is important to always follow the recommendations mentioned by your doctor as not all solutions are suitable for use with all contact lenses. The disinfection process is simple and with a few simple steps, anyone can learn to keep your contacts safe.

Compare the Types of Contact Lens Solutions.

There are two major options for contact lens solutions and each is used separately. Most will require you to rub, and wash contact lenses before wearing them. These help to clean the micro-organisms. It also releases lipid and protein deposits that may have accumulated in the lens. Some are often used as a “clean only” solution. Both methods, if followed correctly, are effective in maintaining healthy contact lenses. Different types of contact lenses may require additional steps, so be sure to consult your doctor before making any changes to your eye care system.

1.     Many solutions

The great advantage of contact lenses for many purposes is that the same solution can be used for cleaning, washing, disinfection, and storing contact lenses. These solutions form a large part of the market and require the lenses to be cleaned and scratched after use. The rubbing step is simple and can only add a minute to your evening routine. Just wash your hands and hold the solution in the palm of your hand. Place one lens on the solution and using your index finger pad, gently rub on the lens. Change contact again. It is always best to apply and clean the lens during removal and before applying the soaking solution overnight. This process has a profound effect on the cleanliness of the contact lens, so do not skip this step. Clean contact lenses will give a clear view and ensure your eyes stay healthy.

2. Hydrogen peroxide solutions (H2O2)

Hydrogen peroxide solutions are an excellent way to clean and disinfect lenses. Since hydrogen peroxide is usually hypoallergenic, this type of solution is more common in people with allergies. Hydrogen peroxide solution can be used to lubricate, wash, and maintain contact lenses, but it also requires critical action.

If hydrogen peroxide solution is not converted into contact lens solution, the remedy will stain or burn your eyes. The neutralization step is usually accomplished by placing the lenses in a special case containing a neutralizing disc that responds with a solution of hydrogen peroxide. If you are using a hydrogen peroxide system, be sure never to apply the solution directly to your eyes or contact lenses. It is also very important to change the charges with every new bottle of the solution because the neutralization disk loses its functionality through use. Both of these solutions require that contact lenses be installed for many hours. In most cases, lenses should be left to soak overnight (at least six hours). Some products allow shorter dipping times so, for details, check the box.

EXCESSIVE REACTION OR OTHER SENSITIVITY

Another thing to keep in mind when it comes to lens solutions is the possibility of an overdose or sensitivity. Many contact lenses solutions use barriers to maintain a shelf-product life. Check the dates on the bottle before using the solution and, if you experience any discomfort, be sure to consult a doctor. These allergies can occur even after years of use. As long as these problems are solved properly, some products are found to be free of lethal substances.

CLEANING YOUR CONTACT LENS

Wash your hands before handling the contacts.

• Splash a few drops of solution into the palm of your hand and insert one of the lenses into it.

• Use small circles when rubbing the lenses.

The disinfection process is a good time to use protein supplements. Just remember to wash the lenses afterward. Some eye specialists also recommend wiping the lenses before filling them with liquid. This process can remove small germs and extend the life of the case.
